SUCCESS

I took a picture of the stairs inside of Our Lady of Lourdes school. I was thinking of a word I could use to match a picture of stairs going up or down. I was thinking positively and came across the words : reach, climb, achieve, and success. I decided on the word "success." I started at the bottom on the last step, and spelled the word going upwards on a diagnal. I think this relates to my current life, as well as everyone elses. In life, to succeed, you need to keep moving forward.

GRUMPY PIG

When making my pig art, I chose a picture of a grumpy pig with rain boots. I decided that this pig could be grumpy because the weather isn't nice. I took a picture of a puddle outside of Our Lady of Lourdes in the sand. I placed the grumpy pig in this puddle and made it look like his feet were in the mud. I also took a picture of a dark cloud outside on a rainy day. I cropped the cloud and placed it into my picture for the effect of a rainstorm. I got a picture of a raindrop, and plotted it in my picture several times to give the FULL effect of a rainstorm. I found a picture of a raindrop rippling into the water and decided to add that into my pig art. I faded the ripple into my picture so that it was the same color as the mud, and changed the sizes of each ripple in the mud. The focal point of my picture would be the pig with RED rain boots. The main idea of this picture would be that the red boots are on this pig for a reason, being that he doesn't want to get wet or muddy in the first place. This pig is grumpy because it is raining and he is getting wet, meanwhile the whole point of this pig in rain boots is to stay dry, and keep the mud from touching him.

TRIPTYCH

(I don't have the original pictures, they got deleted, you told me to remind you so no marks get taken off)

The picture at the top is a picture of sewer water. In the original picture, you can see the actual sewer and a little bit of water. This is the little bit of water I captured from the sewer. I zoomed in really close and cropped it so you can only see the water and a pencil. I added a fresco filter over top of it which gave it a shiny tint. The pencil adds to the picture because it is a soft orange color, the only actual color in the picture. I don’t think you would ever be able to tell that this picture is from a sewer, which I personally think is really neat because the drops of water look really defined and don't remind me of a sewer at all. Overall, I really enjoy this picture and I believe it is extremely original.

The bottom left picture was taken outside of our school on the track. I started with a picture of a long white line on the track from a distance. I cropped it by zooming in so you could only see one little piece of the track, and a little beige rock off to the side. I added a fresco filter to this picture, and also dropped in a little more orange coloring to the rock to make it pop out more. The fresco filter made the lines on the track really visible, and interesting to look at.

The bottom right picture is also a picture of the same line on the track as the one beside it. I took the original picture and cropped in a different way. I added a plastic wrap filter over top of it and I changed the contrast of the picture. The white part of the track in the picture takes over, leaving only a little bit of room for black. The white spots really stand out because it is a brighter white color. The small black part of the track looks like a very dark and deep black color. The plastic wrap filter makes defines the black lines all throughout the track.

All three of these pictures are related to the ground. The water is on the ground, and the track is the ground. Overall, I think these pictures capture the main concept of this assignment.

LIVE YOUR LIFE

I chose to do my CD cover on Bob Marley because I love his music. The theme I chose was smoke and a marijuana leaf. This reprisents Bob Marley because this is how he loved spending his time. I chose to name the album, "Live Your Life," because he definitly lived his the way he wanted. Smoking weed is what Bob Marley loved to do, all of the time.

VOTE

For my poster, I decided that I would choose a cell phone. I believe that a cell phone strongly represents a high school audience because you rarely see anyone without one. People take their cell phones out absolutely anywhere and everywhere. The bold RED font stands out clearly, and also matches the little phone "talk" button in the bottom right corner. The call button in the corner stands out because it means, speak. This symbolizes that everyone has their own voice, and because everyone uses their cell phones everyday, and people use their voices everyday, then voting should be something you want to over power your voice for.
